Are you looking for a place to share experiences (good and bad) about software, hardware, vendors, network, and managing IT? And you’d like to do it with others experienced in local government? The Kansas Chapter of GMIS (www.gmis.org) has been around for a little over 20 years, and we swap all of that stuff on a quarterly basis besides having our own chapter listserv and the International one, too! You’re invited to “take us for a test meeting”! Our next one is here in Wichita, May 7. (We try to move them around to help equalize out the driving distance.) Here’s our schedule for the day (subject to change, of course): 9:00 - 9:30 Coffee, Snack and visit with your peers 9:30 - 9:45 Announcements and Greetings by Host 9:45 - 10:45 Presentation: “Project Management: A Practical Approach (Sedgwick County IT Model)” by Donna Luetters 10:45 - 11:00 Break 11:00 -12:00 Presentation: State Treasurer Office Data VIPS by Andy Sandberg & Dan Bunker 12:00 - 1:00 Lunch at Whiskey Creek Steak House (Old Town) 1:00 - ?? Business meeting of KSGMIS
We’ll be meeting in the 3rd floor Training Room of the Historic Courthouse, 510 N. Main. We’d like you to come and share! Just reply to this e-mail and we’ll get you updated information as we get closer and driving instructions if you need them. And, if you know someone in local government IT you are welcome to bring them, too!
