James, an IT professional with over 25 years of experience, has been at the forefront of technology since 1999. Based in Wichita, KS, he currently serves as the IT Infrastructure Director, leveraging his deep expertise in Exchange, Active Directory, Office 365, and mobile device management to lead and innovate in the field.
Throughout his career, James has achieved significant milestones, including leading numerous Exchange upgrades, and becoming the HIPAA Security Officer for Sedgwick County. His commitment to advancing IT governance is evident in his involvement with GMIS-KS, where he has served as Treasurer since 2017. Most recently, in August 2024, James was named the International Director for GMIS International, marking another step in his dedication to the IT community.
Academically, James combines his technical knowledge with a strong leadership foundation. He holds a Criminal Justice Degree with a minor in Psychology and a Mini MPA from Wichita State University, equipping him with a unique perspective on problem-solving and management. His ultimate professional goal is to become the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Sedgwick County, a position he aspires to achieve by continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation and efficiency.
Outside the office, James enjoys a fulfilling personal life. He has been married since 2010 and is a proud father to two sons, ages 16 and 10, along with their family dog. He and his wife share a love of traveling. A fan of movies, video games, and hockey, James also enjoys playing hockey and often shares his humor through jokes and memes, making him a memorable and approachable leader.
